Introduction

Mulisa Group Head Office is seeking a junior Human Resources Generalist. This is a 6-month fixed contract, with the possibility of renewal based on the incumbent’s performance.


Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Operations & Recruitment
    • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding procedures.
    • Act as a primary contact for staff regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Discipline & Industrial Relations
    • Advise line managers on end-to-end disciplinary processes, from drafting formal warnings to preparing for hearings.
    • Ensure all disciplinary actions align with the LRA and internal governance.
    • Maintain rigorous records of all disciplinary proceedings and case documentation.
    • Support the HR Executive at the CCMA hearings or bargaining council meetings when required.
  • Payroll & Benefits Administration
    • When required, assist with preparing and processing monthly and weekly payroll inputs, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and overtime.
    • Investigate and resolve payroll-related queries from staff and management.
    • Administer medical aid, provident fund, and other employee benefits.
  • Compliance
    • Serve on the Employment Equity meeting and assist with annual report submissions.
    • Serve on the Training Committee and assist with the annual reporting of WSP/ATR.
    • Serve on the Culture Committee and be an ambassador of the vision and mission of the company. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • HR Diploma / Degree
  • 1-3 years’ experience in an Assistant/Junior HR Manager role, within a manufacturing/FMCG environment.
  • Strong understanding of South African labour laws (BCEA, LRA, EEA, COIDA)
